  • Attend the locality meetings when they are notified to your Governing Body

  • Attend the Annual Conference

  • Make sure that South Gloucestershire's Governor Association is an Agenda item at every Governing Body meeting and that your Governors are represented at locality meetings and Annual Conferences

  • Ensure that your Governing Body responds in time to LA requests concerning consultation on various issues e.g. Children & Young People Plan, Admission criteria, SEN Review, Funding issues, etc.

  • Attend Governor Training relevant to you or your Governing Body.  It is a great way to meet other Governors and LA personnel to exchange views, as well as to enhance your knowledge of various areas of your responsibilities

  • Encourage fellow Governors to be involved with you in any Governor related activities

  • Contact Geoff Howell, Chair of the Forum, if you have any concerns relevant to the Association
