Clerks' Training:

Clerks play a significant part in the efficiency of governing body meetings.  We would encourage all clerks to attend Clerks' Network meetings to keep up-to-date.  We are now providing National Training for Clerks, provided by the DfES.

BTEC Advanced Certificate for Clerks

This is a competency award which means each candidate has to produce a portfolio of evidence which is then assessed.  The cost is £475.  This includes:

• Half day introduction to the award
• Registration fee and Award booklet
• 3 days' training
• DIY kit
• All assessment and mentoring support

This year we are offering £275 for each of four clerks to undertake the BTEC Award.  This would mean that their governing body would need to contribute £200 to enable their clerk to take up this opportunity for professional development.
